In today's world, the importance of online and offline connections cannot be overlooked nor downplayed.  However, not all connections and therefore networks are created equal.  To help determine the quality of our connections, it is important to ask the following questions:

  • "How connected am I?"
  • "What is the diversity and depth of my connections?"
and lastly
  • "What is the quality of my learning networks?"

Let us begin by exploring my perception of "How connected am I?".

Many of my professional learning connections occur online and a strong minority occur offline within my own school district, where I am slowly realizing that being connected is becoming a necessity and invaluable tool.  But how does one determine their level of connectedness?  Can a simple tool be used to determine our digital footprint, or can this concept be explored by examining ones web presence.  I believe that the connectedness of an individual is a personal experience and cannot be accurately or adequately evaluated by outside sources, with this in mind I will now share my offline and online connections.
